Case studies
New College Oxford - Garden Screen Client - New College, Oxford University Eight hundred elements of Thomas Robinson’s early 18th century garden screen were oil gilded and the college arms re-blazoned.
The Royal Barge Client - Thames Diamond Jubilee Foundation/Royal Household The gilding of the figurehead involved 300 books of 22ct Gold Leaf. Areas of the gold were glazed with subtle colour to help elements of the sculpture stand out. Glazed silver leave was used on some of the shells and sea creatures.
New College Oxford - Dining Hall Client - New College, Oxford University Paint samples from fragments of 16th century polychrome were taken from crevices in the stripped and  badly over-painted  heraldic detail, and paint analysis used as a reference to restore the original colour scheme. Areas that had been bronze painted in the mid 20th century were oil gilded.
Oriel College Oxford - Dining Hall Client - Oriel College, Oxford University Bronze painted detailing on the panel cresting and on the roof bosses was oil gilded. The polychrome putti above the entrance doors were carefully cleaned and re-gilded.
